Horror as McDonald’s customer finds a needle in her fries… but she ‘accidentally’ put it there herself

  • Police searched her house and found a packet of needles with one missing

A woman who found a needle in her McDonald’s fries angrily slammed the fast food restaurant online before realsing everything was not as it seemed.

New Zealand woman Ash Te Weri posted on Facebook in hopes of alerting others to be vigilant of their food, after finding the needle in her fries on Friday night, the NZ Herald reported.

Ms Weri claimed she had found the needle in a McDonald’s Happy Meal, and warned other people to be careful of dangerous and sharp objects in food meant for babies and children.

However, despite her good intentions, people slammed Ms Weri and accused her of only wanting ‘attention or compensation from McDonald’s’.

McDonald’s New Zealand were not taking any chances after being contacted by Ms Weri, and alerted police. 

The store where the fries were bought from assisted police and provided them with CCTV footage. 

Police also conducted a search at Ms Te Weri’s home and found a packet of 20 needles, with one missing. 

Detective Inspector Ross McKay told the publication police believed Ms Weri had made ‘an honest mistake’. 

‘There was no malicious intent here,’ he said. 

Ms Te Weri has since removed the post from her Facebook page.
