House of Cards and The Wire’s Reg E. Cathey dies at age 59

Reg E. Cathey passed away at the young age of 59 on Friday at his home in NYC.

The House of Cards actor has been battling lung cancer.  

But the exact cause of his death has not been released to the public.

Reg was a 2015 Emmy winner and three-time nominee for outstanding guest actor on the hit political drama House of Cards. 

He played Freddy Hayes—the owner of a BBQ restaurant.

The actor also had significant supporting roles on HBO’s The Wire and Oz.
