How Angelina Jolie is kick-boxing her way through divorce battle

It was poised to be the most bitter of Hollywood break-ups, as Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt traded blows over custody and finances.

However, it seems actress and humanitarian Jolie, 43, is now offering an olive branch to her estranged husband.

A source close to the star told MailOnline that Jolie’s ‘anger is dissolving’ and far from an emotional war being on the cards, she now wants to reach ‘a peaceful truce’ with Brad – but only ‘if his side are keen.’

The couple, who share six children, Maddox, 17, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12; and twins Knox and Vivienne, 10 and wed in 2014, have watched their love affair unravel and turn increasingly acrimonious in recent months, as their respective legal teams prepare to go to battle over money and access to their children.

However, the actress and humanitarian has revealed that a new, healthier lifestyle is helping her take a more zen approach to the break-up.

Divorce-fit: In a bid to ready herself for the final financial and custody negotiations in her divorce with Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie (pictured in Paris in January) has reportedly overhauled her physical and mental health, with organic cookery classes, daily boxing sessions, regular vitamins and Tibetan sound baths – all of which have helped her anger towards Brad fade

The single mother is embarking on a well-being overhaul, to ensure she’s ‘divorce-ready’ when lawyers get to the more brutal parts of splitting the couple’s assets.

Jolie made the shock announcement in September 2016 that she was filing for divorce from Pitt, and the superstar couple’s separation has since descended into a media circus, something which has left her at her lowest ebb, both mentally and physically.

While there are millions of pounds at stake – legal costs already stand at £4 million between them – Angelina has had time to reflect on how important money really is when it comes to happiness.

The source said: ‘If there’s one thing the past couple of years has taught Angie, it’s that money does not buy you happiness, it’s your health that counts.’

After rediscovering her love for martial arts, first fostered during her role as Lara Croft in the blockbuster Tomb Raider films, the actress has been taking daily boxing classes with a personal trainer in a bid to gain the energy she needs to ensure she stays fit and calm during negotiations.

The source told MailOnline: ‘She looks great and it’s lovely to see her putting her own health and that of the children before all the mess that’s going on with Brad.

‘She says her anger is dissolving and she wants to reach a peaceful truce with Brad – if his side are keen.

‘Angie loves martial arts, she has done since her Tomb Raider days and right now she really wants to train her body so she feels mentally clear too. ‘

In addition to getting in the ring, the star is also eating a healthy diet, taking part in daily New Age yoga sound baths to help her mentally prepare for divorce and also taking a vitamin supplement called Lumity to help her sleep.

It isn’t just Angelina who’s feeling stronger and healthier, the actress has been passing on her positive vibes to her children too, with them enjoying karate and football classes.

Said the source: ‘Angie started showing them some of her old moves at home and realised how out of shape she was and decided there and then to get into prime physical fitness again.

‘She and the kids have been taking classes together to cook nutritious, organic meals.’

‘Plus, they’re all cutting back on soda and making their own probiotic-packed fizzy kombucha at home which they love and is so good for your immune system.’

As well as building up her strength and agility and has focused heavily on her mental health too; including bathing in Tibetan sound baths every evening, which are said to help stave off depression and stress and even help to heal pain.

The source said that recent weeks have seen the star rejuvenated: ‘It’s tough as she’s really not done any exercise in so long because she simply hasn’t had the energy.

‘But Angie’s gradually building up strength and agility and is slowly putting on weight. She wants to feel happy and healthy this is not at all about getting a new man or how she looks during awards season.’

A special vitamin blend too is also helping the actress feel ready for the courtroom, and the ensuing media glare.

The source said: ‘Angie is also taking a natural vitamin mix before bed called Lumity which she says is helping her to sleep and in the morning she’s drinking seaweed shakes.’

It seems Brad is focusing on his health too as he prepares to battle for his millions; the Fight Club star is now teetotal and has kicked tobacco.

The 54-year-old A-lister is also said to have been consulting a therapist to help keep him calm during the emotionally difficult time.
