Hugh Jackman shares a touching heartfelt tribute to his dad Christopher on Father’s Day

Hugh Jackman melted hearts by sharing a sweet tribute to his dad Christopher on American Father’s Day this Sunday.

The Oscar-nominated star posted the touching post on Instagram alongside a pic of the beaming pair.

‘Happy Father’s Day to the man who taught me to show respect for others,’ the 49 year-old gushed.

‘For education, for being led by your passions. Who taught me to never stop growing and learning.’

Hugh added: ‘To work hard and realize that preparation is the bedrock for success. And above all, to find purpose beyond oneself.’

The Greatest Showman finished the post with a simple: ‘I love you Dad!’

Hugh spoke candidly about the close relationship he shares with his father during  an emotional interview with 60 Minutes in 2012. 

‘My father is my rock. It’s where I learned everything about loyalty, dependability, being there day in, day out, no matter what,’ Hugh revealed.

The A-lister recently revealed to GQ Australia his proud moment over his daughter’s social media post regarding the #MeToo movement.

‘She said that we talk so much about teaching girls how not to get raped,’ he said  ‘but why don’t we teach boys not to rape? I was just so proud of her.’

The father of two also reckoned the #MeToo is ‘a great teaching moment for boys, girls, men and women – for everyone’, adding that he had spoken to his own children about the movement.
