I’m A Celebrity’s Amir Khan and Iain Lee win exemption

They were responsible for one of this year’s of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! shockers, when they won strawberries and cream in a Dingo Dollar Challenge and wolfed them all themselves.

And to add salt to that still-raw wound, Iain Lee and Amir Khan have gained immunity from being evicted from the jungle, after Amir, Toff, Dennis and Vanessa won a secret task.

This means the troublesome duo will live to see another day in the jungle as celebrities start to get voted off by the public – leaving viewers outraged on Twitter as they watched Thursday evening’s episode.

‘Can you believe the two thieves are immune?’ Viewers outraged as Amir Khan and Iain Lee win exemption from jungle eviction… even after ‘Strawberrygate’

‘As if he first 2 to win immunity are the strawberry thieves Amir Khan & Iain Lee, love it!’ came the first of a wash of tweets on the matter.

‘Does anyone else find it slightly convenient that Amir & Iain have immunity?’ another person chimed in.

‘Seems rather convenient that the first two with immunity from the first vote off are Iain & Amir who were the ones who caused the trouble yesterday!’ said someone else.

A fourth wrote ‘the Strawberry thieves got immunity’ as a fifth posted ‘does anyone find it suspicious that both Iain and Amir have got immunity from eviction, right after StrawberryGate?’

Someone else ranted: ‘Wasn’t it interesting how the first two random choices for immunity were the strawberries nickers!! A suspicious person might ponder that!!’

Another wrote: ‘Both Iain and Amir, by complete chance, get immunity after #Strawberrygate, defying odds that would bankrupt William Hill? Yeah right, producers!’

Someone else rounded things off by tweeting: ‘Strawberries, cream and immunity… well they do say things always come in 3s!!!’

An insider told The Sun on Thursday that the strawberry situation ‘was absolutely not a stunt or set up’.

An ITV spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘Viewers will have seen that campmates who received immunity were chosen by complete random choice. Any suggestion of a fix is completely untrue.’

The beginning of Thursday evening’s episode saw the morning after the night before – with newly appointed Prime Minister Jamie pondering how trustworthy Iain is.

‘Iain’s playing a game – he’s trying to cause a riff and dragging Amir into it,’ he theorised to his deputy PM Jennie, talking about how Iain owned up to eating the strawberries the day before.

‘I can’t work out the strawberry thing!’ Jennie then admitted, speaking in the Bush Telegraph.

But viewers knew that it was Amir’s decision to wolf down the treats, meant to be for the entire camp.

Amir was then sent off to take on the day’s BushTucker Trial, with Toff, who made another jab at him for ‘Strawberrygate’.

Speaking about how the Trial was taking place at Kiosk Keith’s Outback Shack, Amir pondered what they would have to do to win meals for camp.

‘Kiosk Keith is where you win food and eat it,’ he said, referring to Dingo Dollar Challenges.

‘No,’ Toff chimed in. ‘YOU eat it!’

The pair were faced with a challenge in which they each had to drink glasses of various liquids – such as blended goats’ liver, sheep brains and cow hearts.

After effortlessly chugging down the dubious concoctions, the boxer was left with a frothy moustache as he told hosts Ant and Dec: ‘[It tastes like] vomit – really bad vomit… It’s really strong as well. That was really bad!’

Drinks served to the duo included Grime Cordial and a Chocolate Silkshake – with the pair downing all the drinks bar one, which Toff could not stomach.

‘You can’t help a gag reflex,’ the Made In Chelsea star said. ‘I can nail a big cheap nasty bottle of white wine though.’

She really struggled when faced with a blended camel teat.

‘That’s not blended properly!’ she declared before finally downing it and winning the immunity key – which eventually went to Iain.

After the task, Toff and Amir were sent to Snake Rock where they were told they were part of a secret society called Fright Club. It was here that they used the key to unlock a panel, revealing Iain’s photo behind it.

Later in the episode, Vanessa and Dennis took on separate challenge, again secret, where they got to visit Amir and Toff and unlock another panel – this time belonging to Amir.

Returning to camp without Toff and Amir, Dennis and Vanessa lied to the others about failing their task.

‘Well that’s the cherry on top of the cold, wet cake,’ Labour politician Kez exclaimed, referring to the fact that the jungle has been drenched by torrential rain for the past three days.

Meanwhile, there was outrage when Jamie and Shappi’s Dingo Dollar Challenge led to the group missing out on a treat of hot buttered crumpets.

Having won the task, Kiosk Keith called camp and asked the others ‘which percentage of British men would give up sex for £1m? 36 per cent or 56 per cent?’

Adament that it would be the lower figure, Dennis insisted they answer 36 per cent – yet this was the wrong one.

He, Jamie and Becky were seen fuming about the outcome.

‘Where are they asking these questions – in church?’ Jamie said, while Becky remarked: ‘Did they ask old people in old people’s homes?’

‘I want to see the data on these because I don’t think anyone was asked,’ Iain told the Bush Telegraph. ‘You are making the figures up!’

Host Ant was sure to assure that the results were indeed legitimate.

Later, as Toff cooked squab for her and Amir (who thought it was a fish), the boxer let his thoughts be known on his fellow campmates.

‘Kez is bossy and Shappi isn’t funny,’ he declared.

‘Only Amir can get away with saying that stuff,’ Toff said afterwards.

Amir also revealed that he ‘never cooks at home’, declaring that his sister, wife and mum are the ones that do that.
