Father’s Day is just around the corner (June 17 for those who still haven’t marked their calendars) and in honor of the special holiday, one photographer has captured the different types of father’s in an adorable photo series.
Giedre Gomes of Cedar Lake, Indiana, wanted to make a photo series to honor great dads that are involved in their children’s lives. And so with the help of her husband, friends, and neighbors she was able to create this project just in time for Father’s day.
She told Bored Panda: ‘Now that I am a mother myself, I watch my husband, my friends’ husbands and see how they interact with their children. I catch myself comparing them with my own father.’
‘It’s funny how different they all are but at the end they love their children unconditionally. I tried to show as many different types of dads as I could possibly think of and give a funny twist to it. Maybe you can relate to some of them too. Enjoy.’
The pictures range from two father’s playing with their daughter while wearing princess crowns and another dad getting his makeup done by his kids to a dad who can be seen lounging on the couch and drinking a beer while holding his kids to another who was pictured playing basketball with his son.
The photographer also takes children, maternity, family, portrait and event photos and posts some of he work to her Instagram and Facebook accounts.
Like father like children: One dad was snapped drinking a beer with his kids who were seated nearby drinking milk from a bottle
Hoops: Another father was snapped playing basketball with his son who seemed to enjoy spending the quality time with his dad
Playing dress up: Another pair of dads was photographed playing with their toddler daughter who donned a crown along with her fathers
Multitasking: One day held what appeared to be his newborn baby while he played video games and held a controller as well
Chaos: Things went a little awry when one dad was pictured with his kids playing a game of Uno
Swimming lessons: Another dad was pictured teaching his kids how to swim in a lake – with swim rings on of course
Following suit: In a black and white photo, one dad was seen leading his kids on nice and relaxing bike ride
Having fun: A dad was seen smiling while one of his sons pulled his father and little brother in a toy wagon
Yum: In one hilarious snap, a dad and his kids were seen chowing down on some pizza at the dinner table
Pool day: While taking his kids for a swim at the neighborhood pool, one dad joked around with his children who can be seen laughing
Bath time: Another dad gave his kids a bath filled, which was filled with lots of soap and suds
Sleepy: Although nap time is usually scheduled for the kids, one dad couldn’t pass up an opportunity to get some much needed snoozes
Quality time: One dad was pictured taking his daughter fishing while another was photographed using the bathroom with his kids
Heavy lifting: One dad was snapped working out with his son who lifted a lighter weight while his dad held a heavier weight plate over his head
Relief: One dad taught his kids outdoor skills which required using the bathroom near the woods
Relaxation: One dad took a moment for himself while his kids sat on the table and countertop behind him
Pampered: And he continued to relax while his kids pampered their dad and did his hair and makeup
Unconditional love: Giedre said she wanted to photos to show the ways dads show their love for their kids – whether that be changing a dirty diaper or simply holding your child
