A prison has been being raided after a video filmed on a mobile phone emerged showing an inmate threatening to stab someone because his drink was stolen.

The video was filmed inside Silverwater west of Sydney and shows an inmate swearing and throwing chairs after claiming his drink was stolen.

‘I’m going to f**king stab them,’ the man says as he lobs a chair across the room while other inmates look on.

‘The person who was found to have this phone will now find themselves with potentially an extra two years in a maximum security prison,’ NSW Prisons Minister David Elliott told Seven News.

There are no guards visible in the video, which shows the man pacing around before yelling ‘I don’t give a f**k, f**k the screws’, referring to the guards.

‘Anyone who gets caught petty thieving, I’m gonna f**king stab them.’

Another clip filmed days later shows the same man next to a table-tennis table still threatening to stab the person who had stolen his drink.

‘This footage we’ve seen today should be compulsory viewing for anyone who wants to break the law, it shows bad people go to jail,’ Mr Elliott said.C
