James McVey’s band are ‘worried’ about his weight loss on I’m A Celeb

James McVey’s bandmates have spoken about their concern over his dramatic weight loss on I’m A Celebrity.

The Vamps guitarist’s weight has plummeted during his time in the jungle, with him reportedly reducing his meals to just half their size to share with fussy-eater Harry Redknapp.

And while his bandmates Tristan Evans and Brad Simpson applauded the 24-year-old for his generosity, they have aired their fears over his gaunt frame due to his previous battle with anorexia.

Tristan told The Sun: ‘We’re obviously worried about him, but we can’t expect him to join the jungle and not lose weight, it’s going to happen because of the small amount of food they’re having.

‘We knew he would come out a lot skinnier, but he looks good, I don’t know how much weight he’s lost but he will definitely put it back on when he comes back.

‘He’ll have a nut roast with his family and then a glass of Malbec, or maybe a bottle.”

It comes after it was reported All Night hitmaker has been offering the football manager, Harry  71, some of his veggies after fearing his limited food intake could take its toll on his heath.

The musician’s girlfriend Kirstie Brittain told The Sun: ‘James is being generous with his food, giving it to Harry because Harry is struggling so much with all the meats.

‘James is veggie so he’s giving Harry half his veg, which is why he’s gotten so skinny.’

She added: ‘James was slim when he went in so he’s lost a lot of weight. Sair Khan told me how generous he has been. We’re not seeing it on screen.’

The guitarist told the publication: ‘Fans always send me pictures from years ago and I’m stick thin and I didn’t realise back then just how thin I was.

‘I was ill and I looked ill. I’m happy that now I’ve come full circle and see food as positive. I don’t want to belittle other people who have anorexia but I think it’s definitely had a negative relationship with food in those early days.

James confessed his obsession with food goes back to when he was an ‘obese’ child and he used to beg his mum for sweets.

He elaborated to the publication: ‘I’d beg my mum to buy me sweets. I’d shout if she didn’t. I was so annoying she usually gave in. As a result, I became pretty overweight. When I was 12, I got into a health kick to address that.’
