Ellen asked: ‘So, you’re come – going back and forth from The UK Voice and this at the same time?’

The Oscar-winning actress and singer replied: ‘Yes. Being dragged by the face by both of ’em. Yes, ma’am. Right now, the US is in the lives and the UK is being pre-taped.

‘Sometimes, I get confused. I’ll be like: “Okay, which coach is sitting next to me? Where am I?”‘

Jennifer, who has two Grammy Awards to her name, quipped: ‘The other day, when I was in the UK, I was looking at the other coaches’ contestants, like, “Now, I ain’t never seen these people before, I think”.

‘It took me a minute to be like, “Oh, right! I’m in the UK”.’

Jennifer joined The Voice UK for its sixth and most recently completed season, which aired this year from January 7 through April 2.

This May, she was unveiled as a coach for the 13th season of the American version of The Voice, which is broadcast stateside on NBC.

The new season – with Jennifer coaching alongside Blake Shelton, Miley Cyrus and Adam Levine – began airing in September and is still in progress.

Jennifer told Ellen: ‘These coaches ain’t no joke. So, you got Blake. He’s really charming, but that’s my competitor, so I gotta watch him.

‘And then you got Adam – and they’re the vets, so they’ve been on the show a long time, and then, I’m the newcomer.

‘And then you have Miley – this is her second season, so I’m – again, I’m a newcomer, so I’m like, I have to strategize to see, like, what’s their – what’s their tricks are.’

Modeling a canary yellow top with a black miniskirt, matching fishnet stockings and a pair of thigh-high stiletto boots, Jennifer explained why she flings shoes on air.

‘So, when you really like somebody, you throw a shoe at them,’ Ellen explained.

Jennifer maintained: ‘That’s the biggest compliment, ’cause if I take my shoe off for you, you are doing something special.’

Ellen defended her: ‘I don’t know why you have to explain it to people. I mean, you’re not aiming for their face. You’re aiming towards them, but not to hit them.’

‘Right,’ said Jennifer, ‘And they already know. I let them know: Be prepared to duck. Be prepared, and it’s a compliment even if you do get knocked out.’

The singing sensation gushed that her home was decorated for Christmas by November 1, with a ‘holiday forest full of lights in my yard, like, the day after Halloween.’

The singer and actress has been locked in a bitter custody battle with her estranged husband, David Otunga, since last month.

In late November, he accused her of dropping the protective order she against him because she didn’t want to testify under oath.

A source told TMZ that would make the Dreamgirls star uncomfortable because the altercation that she claimed took place really never happened.

In court documents she said she feared for the ‘physical and emotional safety and that of my son.’

David has been granted temporary primary custody of the couple’s son because Jennifer travels so much for work.
