Earlier this month, Jessica revealed her Eurovision song, We Got Love is actually inspired by humanity’s ability to show compassion in the face of adversity.

She told News.com.au her uplifting song originated after she was emotionally rattled by a number of recent events- namely the recent Florida school shooting and the alleged rape of a two-year-old girl in Tennant Creek.

‘All of these things we see online, whether in our indigenous communities, past and present and how the world is turning, made me angry,’ she added.

‘But what affected me more was the love coming from people, seeing people standing tall and strong,’ The Secret Daughter actress said.

It’s this very act of defiance that formed the basis for the Darwin-born singer’s Eurovision pop anthem.
