Jessica Mulroney rehearsed Pippa Middleton moves before royal wedding

Meghan Markle’s best friend ‘stole the show’ at the royal wedding on Saturday – after having a ‘Pippa moment’, and according to reports it was no accident.

Jessica Mulroney, 38, drew attention to her shapely derriere as she sashayed up the steps at St George’s Chapel in a figure-hugging navy dress, prompting royal fans to reminisce about Pippa Middleton stealing the show at Kate’s wedding.

Now The New York Post has claimed that the Canadian fashion stylist was practicing the move a full month ago.

Richard Johnson of Page Six said that a friend of Meghan’s had told reporter Sharon Churcher of an incident that occurred at a Toronto Gala.’

‘A a prominent photographer asked Mulroney to pose,’ the friend reported.

‘She said archly, “I’m going to give you some Pippa”, and turned her back to offer a rear shot. I was kind of shocked, but that’s Jessica for you.’

Though she didn’t wear a white dress, the mother-of-three’s royal blue version looked decidedly similar to Pippa’s – at least from behind.

Both frocks featured cap sleeves, button details, and flawless tailoring that highlighted each woman’s best assets.

And Jessica – who is Meghan’s closest confidante – had her half-up half-down hairstyle, reminiscent of Pippa’s on Will and Kate’s big day.

However, it was Jessica’s shapely derriere that caught the attention of beady-eyed onlookers.

On Saturday, photos of Jessica, a PR consultant and bridal expert, who has been dubbed Toronto’s Gwyneth Paltrow, sparked a similar reaction – with comparisons to Pippa being made.

The so-called ‘Pippa moment’ happened as Jessica – who wore Christian Louboutin heels – ascended the steps guiding the young bridesmaids who walked beside her.

Dressed in the cap-sleeve fluted midi dress – a bespoke piece made in the Di Carlo Couture’s Montreal atelie – teamed with a matching hat, clutch and nude heels, she certainly turned heads.

And one guest praised Amal and Jessica as the two best-dressed wedding guests, while another wrote: ‘Jessica I hope you are extremely proud of your amazing kids they did a remarkable job.’

However others were less impressed, emphasising the golden rule not to try to outshine the bride.

Speaking about Jessica’s appearance, William Hanson, royal and etiquette expert, told Femail: ‘Jessica Mulroney may well have been trying to have her own Pippa Middleton moment.

‘It is never correct to upstage the bride – whether you are related to them or not. It is every guest’s duty to look good but not too good.’

Over the weekend Instagram addict Miss Mulroney posted just a single photograph on her Instagram account – a picture of her twins holding Meghan’s train as she walked up the steps of St George’s Chapel on Saturday.

‘Proud friend. Proud mom,’ she wrote next to the photograph of the bride entering the church.
