Joe Biden’s niece Caroline in court over credit card scam

Joe Biden’s niece appeared in a school-girl styled-outfit to a Manhattan court Friday, after pleading guilty in a $110,810 credit card scam.

Caroline Biden, 31, has just about completed her 10 days of community service and has paid back her restitution that was part of her June plea deal, the Manhattan District Attorney’s office tells DailyMail.com.

The blonde was offered the plea bargain back in June in Manhattan Supreme Court, and plead guilty to using a borrowed credit card to go on a lush shopping binge.

Friday’s hearing was an update on her community service. Under the deal, she was sentenced to 10 days of community service, which is being served at a children’s hospital in California.

She also paid back $100,000 of restitution. She is still serving her year of probation.

The assistant district attorney on her case says she has a couple days left to her community service, and is due back in court on June 11 for a follow up.

Had she been tried normally Biden would have spent up to a year in jail.

The young blonde’s defense attorneys, one of whom is Ira London – is one of New York’s top-rated lawyers.

Joe’s unruly niece asked to borrow a credit card from a victim, who was not identified in court documents, to buy an item for $672.

But Biden strayed from her word. She opened an account at the Bigelow Pharmacy in New York and spent more than $100,000 between April 2015 and June 2016 buying the store’s products.

On May 5, police arrested her and charged her with grand and petit larceny. On Friday she made her third court appearance.

This isn’t the first time Biden – who is the daughter of Joe Biden’s brother James – has found herself in a legal mess.

In 2013, she was arrested for harassment, resisting arrest and obstruction of justice after she got into a fight with a roommate over rent.

She also uttered to police while she was arrested: ‘I shouldn’t be handcuffed! You don’t know who you’re doing this to!’

What appeared to be the most bizarre part of that debacle was when she covered herself in a white blanket while she was transported from the police station to the hospital.

Police at the time did not provide a reason for the transfer.

Biden – who has been reportedly in and out of rehab for anger management and a drug addiction – also managed to escape jail at the time when the court ordered for her charges to be dropped if she behaved for six months.
