Johnny Vegas made a cigarette dash on Sunday morning, seen leaving a local shop with a packet just days after announcing his plans to quit.
The comedian, 47, vowed to kick the habit in light of his recent health living attempts, which has seen him drop drastically in weight.
The formally rotund actor – who reportedly smokes up to 60 cigarettes in a day – took to Twitter on Thursday to share a link to Ira Wolf’s 2017 song Sunscreen and added the caption: ‘Early morning listening. Not a cry for help, just a lovely track…especially if you’re all out of coffee, love and cigarettes (although I’m about to ditch the third option soon)’.

But it seems he’s not started yet, seen exiting a newsagents clutching a pack of cigarettes, unwrapping the plastic to get to them.
He looked casual in a navy polo shirt and jeans as he strolled along, clearly desperate for a smoke.

Ever the joker, Johnny made a hilarious statement as he shared a duo of images, one showing the langoustine he was preparing to eat before then sharing a slender shot of himself at the dining table.
He added a caption on the image reading: ‘In the food chain of command I’m grateful to have lunch salute you.
‘Others might suggest corporal langoustine was cowering? This was not the case. He was willing to lay down the latter two thirds of his body for my seafood stew. His sacrifice deserved a single straw bugle salute’.

And the 47-year-old funnyman, formerly known for his portly physique and gruff manner, was again showing off the fruits of his hard-earned labour as he took to Twitter on Wednesday to post a slimline image from a family holiday.
The star, who announced his split from his wife Maia Dunphy after seven years of marriage earlier this year, revealed he had taken to embarrassing his son on their family holiday with the threat of buying knock-off designer sandals.

In an earlier amazingly healthy snap, Johnny was seen to be giving away the tricks of his physique, as he shared an image of his healthy breakfast complete with scrambled eggs, avocado and cooked tomatoes.

Both Johnny and wife Maia shared the sad news that their marriage was over on Twitter earlier this year, and wrote: ‘It is with a heavy heart that we want to let you know that we separated some time ago last year.
‘We are telling people now because speculation is unhelpful at best, and dangerous at worst. As we think is obvious, we continue to fully support each other; there is no acrimony, no story and no one else involved.’

Johnny and Maia have a son, Tom Laurence, who is two years old. The comedian also has a son called Michael, 12, from a previous relationship.
Johnny, who married Maia in Seville in 2011, previously credited his older son for helping him to turn his life around, as he used to go on ‘four-day benders’.
