Judge Brett Kavanaugh feeds homeless 48 hours after Trump announce him for Supreme Court

President Donald Trump nominated Judge Brett Kavanaugh for the U.S. Supreme Court on Monday night, and on Wednesday he was feeding the homeless.

Despite Kavanaugh’s grueling week leading up to his nomination, and spending the ensuing the two days since meeting with senior lawmakers on Capitol Hill ahead of his confirmation hearings, he managed uphold the prior commitment he made with with St. Maria’s Meals program. 

During Monday night’s acceptance of Trump’s nomination, the the federal appellate judge remarked that his Jesuit high school education taught him to be ‘a man for others.’

According to the Daily Caller, it was a passerby that spotted the Supreme Court nominee on her way home from work Wednesday night.

She watched and snapped photos as Kavanaugh was serving meals to the homeless outside of Catholic Charities in downtown Washington, D.C.  

One of his fellow volunteers confirmed the judge signed up for the event previously and honored his commitment.

St. Maria’s Meals program serves hot dinners to the capital’s poor. The judge frequently volunteers for the program, according to his D.C. Circuit Biography.   

Meanwhile some Democrats say they will try to block Kavanaugh’s confirmation, and his vetting process has just begun.  

Earlier Wednesday his public disclosure forms for 2017 showed that the federal judge would come to the nation’s highest court with only two investments, including a bank account, together worth a maximum of $65,000, along with the balance on a loan of $15,000 or less.

If confirmed, his relatively modest means would rank him in the lower tier in personal finances among members of court. Some of his potential future colleagues list millions of dollars in investments.

The records also showed that Kavanaugh, nominated by Trump to replace retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy, had between $45,000 and $150,000 in credit card debt in 2016, which was paid off by the following year.

In 2016, he also reported a loan balance between $15,000 and $50,000.
