Kangaroo fights tradesman on Australian street

This is the astonishing moment a tradesman and kangaroo go head to head on a gravel road in an entertaining street fight.

The man, dressed in a high-vis jumper with work boots and a beanie, appears to provoke the plucky marsupial by jabbing at its chest.

Never one to back down from a fight, the juvenile kangaroo props its body up using its sturdy tail and throws a barrage of flying kicks at the tradie in response.

The fight, believed to have taken place in a rural town in Australia’s outback, drags out for close to three minutes with neither opponent willing to back down.

Footage of the tussle was uploaded on social media earlier this week, racking up millions of views and thousands of comments.

Viewers were quick to rush to the defense of the man seen in the vision, with one man claiming the worker’s family had saved the kangaroo and raised it from birth.

‘Try that when he’s fully grown mate, see how you go then,’ one man commented.

Some viewers pointed out the kangaroo’s ‘clever use’ of his tail as a third leg in the fight, relying on it for balance and as a means to propel its hind legs.

Others were less impressed with the fight, slamming the man for the ‘cruel’ act.

‘Seriously uncool dude. Should be charged with animal cruelty. The kangaroo stood down several times and the bloke kept baiting him,’ Jancy wrote.

A number of viewers were quick to defend the man, arguing there was nothing wrong with the playful fight.

‘Can clearly tell he’s playing around with the kangaroo , clearly is hardly even touching it,’ one person wrote.

‘Just a worker fooling around teaching the young roo to sharpen his boxing skills. Nothing in the slightest wrong happening here,’ another agreed.
