Karl Stefanovic is ‘paying $35,000 a month’ to ex-wife Cassandra Thorburn after their divorce, according to a report. 

The Herald Sun made the claim in an article published Sunday, reporting that the 43-year-old is paying his former wife $420,000 a year, equating to payments of $35,000 a month. 

Cassandra, 46, has also retained the family mansion, an $8 million waterfront property in Cremorne, as part of the divorce settlement.

Karl and Cassandra ended their marriage of 21 years in October 2016.

The couple have three children of whom they share custody – a son Jackson, 18, daughter Ava, 13 and son River, 11.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Karl Stefanovic and Cassandra Thorburn for comment. 

Following her split from Karl, Cassandra told Woman’s Day: ‘I was completely gazumped when I realised Karl had gone.’ 

She added: ‘The children still have a father but I don’t have a husband. He really is dead to me and no, we won’t ever be friends again.’

He claimed the whole situation – especially the public’s fascination with his private life – has been ‘very difficult on everyone.’
