Khloe Kardashian’s trainer reveals 2018 fitness trends

Training one of the most famous women in the world requires always being on the pulse of what’s coming next in fitness.

So FEMAIL decided that Luke Milton, a trainer on Revenge Body With Khloe Kardashian, would be the perfect person to predict the biggest trends for 2018.

And the former Wallabies star believes that High-intensity interval training (HIIT) and group exercise classes are definitely here to stay.

‘I think we will continue to see growth in the boutique fitness area,’ he told Daily Mail Australia.

Milton predicts that boxing especially will have a moment this year, with proof already seen in the success of 9ROUND and 12RND in Australia.

‘Group boxing has been made popular by Victoria’s Secret models and alike,’ he said. ‘I believe we will see trends like group boxing classes increase in popularity.’

While Milton thinks boxing is a great addition to an exercise routine, he notes that – like any fitness trend – it depends on just how good the instructor is.

‘The challenge with the rise and popularity of any fitness trend is the quality of instruction,’ he said.

‘And boxing is such a defined skill that professional instruction is vital. I am interested to see if this trend will stick.’

As the founder of Training Mate, which offers 45-minute circuit classes that burn up to 1,000 calories, Milton is no stranger to group training.

Milton also predicts we will start seeing HIIT-style workouts incorporated into different kinds of exercise, including yoga and dance

‘I truly believe that the fitness companies that will sustain growth and prosper are the ones that provide an experience as well as an amazing workout,’ Milton said.

‘I don’t believe any fitness trend is on the way out. However, I do believe that any company that doesn’t focus on the experience of the workout will be naturally phased out.’

When it comes to his star client, Milton said Khloe is more focused on fitness in general rather than just what's trending

‘It’s so much more than just going to the gym these days.’

When it comes to his star client, Milton said Khloe is more focused on fitness in general rather than just the trends.

‘She works hard and gets results,’ he said.

‘Resistance work with high intensity cardio and “do anywhere” workouts using her body and limited equipment keep her healthy and happy, and will be the reason she reclaims her “revenge body” super quick post-pregnancy.’

But you don’t need a celebrity trainer to jump start your fitness goals this year.

Milton recommends letting go of any guilt you have about overindulging during the holiday season and to just get going.

‘Don’t beat yourself up about the holidays, be intimidated by a workout, or talk yourself out of getting started,’ he said.

Milton also advises surrounding yourself with people who will motivate you to keep working on your fitness goals.

‘Find yourself a really fun group fitness family, an instructor that inspires and motivates you, someone that holds you accountable and enjoys getting healthy with you!’ he said.

‘Walk, run, swim, surf, crawl…anything. Just move your body and have fun doing it and you’ll be amazed at how your body responds!’.
