Kimberley Walsh reveals Cheryl is ‘having a tough time’ after Liam Payne split

They’ve been best friends for years – and Kimberley Walsh discussed Cheryl’s recent split from Liam Payne on Tuesday, on Loose Women on Tuesday.

The 36-year-old has no doubt been a shoulder for Cheryl, 35, to cry on amid her relationship woes as she adapts to life as a single mother to son Bear, one. 

Panellist Gloria Hunniford asked Kimberley about Cheryl and she said: ‘It’s obviously tough,’ but added, ‘she’s doing really well.’

Cheryl and Liam, 24, announced their split on July 1 following a two-and-a-half year relationship amid mounting speculation that all was not well.  

The parents said separating had been ‘a tough decision for us to make’. 

They were last pictured together at the BRITs in London in February when they put on a show of unity.  

The statement read: ‘We still have so much love for each other as a family. Bear is our world and we ask that you respect his privacy as we navigate our way through.’

Cheryl and Payne first met on The X Factor in 2008, when she was a judge and he auditioned as a solo contestant, then 14 years old.

It’s understood that the One Direction star has already moved out of the lavish £5million mansion he shared with Cheryl and Bear in leafy Surrey.

The Fight For This Love singer was handed a decree nisi ending her marriage to Fernandez-Versini at the Central Family Court in London in October 2016.

She divorced first husband Ashley Cole in 2010 following a four year marriage. 

Kimberley said she and Cheryl have been spending time together with their boys since the split.

‘We’ve both got boys the same age, [Cole is three months older than Bear], we get together all the time, I was with her last week and we had a BBQ.’

She added: ‘Cole’s a little obsessed with Bear. I think he thinks he’s like the older one, Cole still thinks he needs to baby him.’

Kimberley appeared on the show along with her brother Adam, as they are working on a kidswear line together.  

She said: ‘We’ve both got boys the same age, [Cole is three months older than Bear], we get together all the time, I was with her last week and we had a BBQ’

She said: ‘It’s a new kidswear range, it was inspired from me and shopping for my boys, it was a little bit boring so I wanted a bit more colour a bit more fun. 

‘My brother designs and manufactures clothing and so it just felt like a natural thing. 

‘Me and Adam are the most similar, as we’re both the middle children, we’re both quite chilled out aren’t we. It’s like a passion project for both of us.’
