Konnie Huq steps out in London after supporting husband Charlie Brooker at the Emmys

She was every inch the doting wife as she supported her husband Charlie Brooker at  the 70th Emmy Awards in Los Angeles on Monday night. 

And Konnie Huq appeared delighted as she attended the re-opening of the Royal Opera House in London on Thursday evening.

The former Blue Peter host, 43, exuded elegance as she donned a sophisticated batwing blouse, which she tucked into a pair of black bell-bottoms.

The presenter boosted her physique in a pair of simple black heels, and carried her possessions in a tan brown satchel bag.

Keeping her accessories to a minimum, Konnie sported a stone pendant bodychain, and tied in her ensemble with a skinny grey belt.

The mother-of-two went for her signature minimal make-up look, which featured light touches of foundation and glossy brown lipstick.

Konnie’s appearance comes after attended this year’s Emmy Awards, where she looked on proudly as her husband Charlie, 47, picked up his third Emmy for his hit series Black Mirror.

The sighting delighted viewers who reminisced about Konnie’s days as a children’s TV favourite.

Konnie, who looked gorgeous in a black lace dress, gave her husband a kiss as he and his co-writer William Bridge were announced as the winners in the category of writing for a limited series, movie or dramatic special.

Charlie thanked Konnie in his acceptance speech, along with a mention for their sons Covey, six and Huxley, four. 

‘And our wives, we have to thank our wives, Konnie’s out there and Jules. Jules went for a wee then came back just in time,’ Charlie quipped of William’s wife.

‘And I need to to thank my children, I don’t know why, they’re only four and six years old so it turns out they’re not really into Black Mirror.’

Fans were ecstatic to see Konnie, who was the longest-serving female presenter of Blue Peter from 1997 until 2008, back on screens, with one fan tweeting: ‘Seeing Konnie Huq on American TV at the #Emmys is something I’ll never quite get over.’

‘Konnie Huq on NBC is a nice sight. A long way from Milkshake,’ added another. 

Earlier this year, Konnie’s husband paid tribute to the TV star and their two sons, revealing his whirlwind romance with her and becoming a parent changed him for the better.

The talented writer told BBC 4’s Desert Island Discs that marrying Konnie in a Las Vegas ceremony after just nine months together in 2010 and deciding to become a dad was ‘the best decision’ he had ever made.
