LeSean McCoy denies claims he ordered attack on ex-girlfriend

Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy has denied claims he orchestrated a brutal attack on his ex-girlfriend Delicia Cordon in a bid to get her to leave his suburban Atlanta mansion

Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy has denied claims that he orchestrated a brutal attack on his ex-girlfriend that left her bloody in an attempt to get her to leave his suburban Atlanta mansion.

His ex-girlfriend Delicia Cordon was pistol whipped, robbed, hit in the head and locked in a bathroom early on Tuesday morning when a man broke into the home owned by McCoy while she was sleeping.

Police confirmed that Cordon had been assaulted during a violent home invasion just hours after graphic posts on social media accused the Buffalo Bills star of bloodying his former girlfriend.

‘For the record, the totally baseless and offensive claims made against me today on social media are completely false,’ McCoy said in a statement released on two of his social media accounts.

‘Further more, I have not had any direct contact with any of the people involved in months.’

McCoy was responding to an Instagram post from a person who said she is friends with his ex-girlfriend. The post showed a graphic photo of Cordon and accused McCoy of physically abusing her, his son and his dog, as well as injecting steroids.

McCoy and Cordon have been battling it out in court of late over his attempts to evict her from his home.

Fulton County Magistrate Court records show that McCoy initiated eviction proceedings against Cordon back in July 2017, saying that the pair were no longer in a relationship.

Court records show two attempts to serve Cordon with the document but no other action. Eviction paperwork was filed again last month with McCoy listed as the plaintiff and Cordon listed as the defendant.

Cordon challenged the eviction on June 22, saying she had been in a relationship with McCoy for at least two years and that she and her children have lived with McCoy at his house since October 2016, according to a motion filed by her lawyer Tanya Mitchell Graham.

They were scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday but it was rescheduled due to a family emergency involving Cordon’s lawyer. The judge issued an order resetting the case 30 days.

The motion filed by her lawyer said the NFL star had discussed marriage with Cordon over Memorial Day and gave her a ‘substantial gift’ on May 29.

McCoy then left Georgia the next day to attend OTAs, the motion said.

Cordon left for Virginia on May 31 to attend her sister’s graduation. While she was gone, the motion said McCoy had some of his friends, family members and others remove her furniture and furnishings without her knowledge on June 1.

She saw this happening through security cameras that she could monitor on her cellphone and called the police, the motion said. Authorities stopped the removal.

Following the incident, McCoy had the old cameras removed from the home and cancelled the security service, according to Cordon’s attorney.

‘He had a new security system installed with all new cameras and a new service provider; however, Mr McCoy did not give Ms Cordon any information about the new security system,’ the attorney said.

‘She has no access to arm or disarm the alarm.’

While the lawyer has directly accused McCoy of orchestrating the attack, she did claim the NFL star had suggested to Cordon she would be robbed of pieces of jewelry he had given her in the past.

A statement released by Graham said Cordon was ‘physically assaulted in the home by a male assailant who entered the home with no signs of forced entry’ about 3am on Tuesday.

‘The assailant demanded specific items of jewelry that had been previously gifted to Ms Cordon by Mr McCoy, which Mr McCoy had requested back on many occasions,’ the statement read.

‘In fact, after Ms Cordon refused to return her jewelry gifts to Mr McCoy, he would often suggest to Ms Cordon that she could be robbed because the jewelry was expensive.’

The attorney said the running back has a history of having others act on his behalf, particularly in the recently filed eviction proceedings where he had another person fill out forms for him.

The sworn statement to initiate the eviction proceedings was signed by Tamarcus Porter, who played football with McCoy back in college. The sworn statement signed by Porter said McCoy is the owner of the house and that his ex-girlfriend was refusing to leave.

Cordon’s lawyer has argued that since Porter is not an attorney, the case should be dismissed. She also claims that eviction action was ‘completely falsified’ by Porter.

Porter was arrested with McCoy following a nightclub brawl involving off-duty police officers in Philadelphia in February 2016. No charges were filed after prosecutors said they could not prove who initiated the fight in which two officers were injured.

The lawyer has also alleged that McCoy has not called to check in on Cordon, despite having had a relationship with her since 2016.

The whole ordeal escalated on Tuesday when emergency personnel were dispatched to McCoy’s home to attend to a female victim who was said to have been hit in the head and locked in a bathroom.

The allegations first arose in the disturbing Instagram post, which has since been deleted, where the two-time All-Pro was accused of beating his ex-girlfriend.

Instagram user @miamor_i_adore posted two pictures of Cordon – one in which she is seen unharmed and another in which her face is covered in drying blood and bruises.

‘@shadymccoy is THE DEVIL!!!’ the post, written by Cordon’s friend ‘Mia’ begins.

‘YOU ARE AN ANIMAL!!!!!! We didn’t say anything about how you beat your dog “Henny” into kidney failure. Let’s not talk about all the times my best friend had to stop you from VICIOUSLY beating your son for small things like peeing in the bed. We kept quiet about your drug usage … all the ILLEGAL steroids and needles you were using, but we will not keep quiet about this!!!!!!’

The sentiments were shared by her mother, who wrote: ‘This is my daughter today after LeSean McCoy got a hold of her!’

‘I didn’t like him from the beginning, she continued. ‘I knew he was a disgusting pig.’

Her sister Karessa and friend Cicely Billups made similar posts.

Cordon has not spoken publicly about the matter and she has since switched her Instagram profile to private.

The Buffalo Bills responded to the news with a brief statement: ‘We have spoken to LeSean and have been in contact with the National Football League. We will continue to gather information.’

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said the league is reviewing the matter.

McCoy turns 30 on Thursday and is preparing to enter his fourth season with the Bills. He spent his first six seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he led the NFL in yards rushing in 2013 before being traded to Buffalo in 2015.

He has never been suspended by the NFL for using performance enhancing substances during his nine-year career.
