With the events of the previous night clearly still weighing heavy on their minds, Liverpool’s players arrived back in England on Wednesday afternoon.
Less than 24 hours on from their Champions League escapades in Seville, there were glum faces all round for Jurgen Klopp’s men.

A victory would have secured the club’s progression to the knockout stages, and it all looked to be going to plan at the halfway stage.
A brace from Roberto Firmino and a Sadio Mane header had put Liverpool into a commanding 3-0 half-time lead, but Sevilla came out fighting in the second half.
An Alberto Moreno error helped the Spaniards on the comeback trail, before an injury-time equaliser ensured Liverpool’s fate will go down to the final matchday.

Adam Lallana was also in the travelling party, making the trip to Spain despite not being in the matchday squad.
Mane, Mohamed Salah and captain Jordan Henderson were also among the ashen-faced stars dragging their luggage upon arrival back into the country.
The rain in northern England clearly didn’t help the mood, with the players having left the sunshine of Seville just a few hours previously.
