  • It can be watched live on Youtube, as well as on the BT Sport website and app 

Liverpool’s Champions League showdown with Real Madrid will be available to watch for free on YouTube, it can be revealed.

BT Sport have agreed to make the final of Europe’s elite competition available for all when Jurgen Klopp’s side face Zinedine Zidane’s men in Kiev on May 26.

The Europa League final between Atletico Madrid and Marseille on May 16 will also be shown for free.

BT Sport attracted 6.5million viewers across all platforms for last year’s final between Real and Juventus but are expecting an increase this month, given the involvement of an English side.

The broadcasters say their Champions League viewing figures this season are already up by 47 per cent. As well as YouTube, the finals will be shown on the BT website and app.

Pete Oliver, managing director of BT consumer, said: ‘To have Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League final is fantastic.

‘We have always said that we want to make top quality sport available to more people and so once again we will be making the UEFA Champions League final and the UEFA Europa League final available to all to watch online for free.’

YouTube’s head of sport, Tomos Grace, added: ‘Football is by far the most popular sport on YouTube and it doesn’t get more premium than the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League finals.

‘We are delighted to be partnering for the third year running with BT Sport to make these games available live to YouTube users across all of our platforms.’
