This the moment a police officer smashed an abandoned car’s window to pull out 55 bags of cannabis before inviting the drug dealer to contact them about the damage.

After shards are swept aside an examination of the car’s interior begins as the officer’s gloved hands probe the vehicle.

A quick rummage around the back seat later and a bulging blue bag is hoisted from the car.

The officer holds the disposable carrier bag in the air, revealing it to be stashed full of drugs.

Placing it on the car’s bonnet, the officer unties its handles to show it is bursting with packs of cannabis. 

A picture uploaded by the force later revealed they had recovered 55 bags of cannabis from the vehicle.

The haul was posted to the Poplar Metropolitan Police Service’s Twitter account with a caption inviting the owner to contact them about the damage caused.

The Safer Neighbourhood Team officers – known only as Matt and Mick – also had their video shared by the Tower Hamlets MPS Twitter account, with an announcement for the London borough’s drug dealers.
