Police have said a 16-year-old boy has become the sixth teenager to be arrested on suspicion of manslaughter over the death of a 22-year-old reveller whose body was found in a river after a night out.
Luke Jobson’s body was found in the River Tees on Monday after he was reportedly seen running from a group of people in Yarm, North Yorkshire in the early hours of Saturday.
Cleveland Police has now revealed that a 16-year-old boy came forward this afternoon to speak to officers working on the inquiry. The force said: ‘The teenager has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and will be questioned in due course.
‘Five other teenagers, aged 16 and 18, have all now been released under investigation while inquiries continue.’

This comes as Luke’s parents paid an emotional tribute to their son, who they described as a ‘driven young lad’.
His heartbroken mother Lisa Jobson, 46, a nursery nurse, said: ‘Me and his dad are so proud we made somebody like him.
‘I couldn’t have asked for a better son, we’re proud of everything he’s done and everything he is.
‘We want to celebrate him. We just want to say a massive thanks to everybody and we want everybody to remember him for the good.

Mrs Jobson said Luke always thought of others and their feelings and described him as a very loving.
‘He was a mummy’s boy, a bit more open with me. He used to confide in me and ask me what I thought of things. He would listen to me.
‘He lived for the present, he enjoyed his life and he worked hard for it. He loved being with his mates and saving up to go away. He kept himself fit and used to go to the gym.
‘The whole search showed the love for Luke. I can’t thank everybody enough for helping with the search. It took my breath away and really showed how much love there is for him.
‘Every area was covered, people were going everywhere to look for him. You don’t realise how good people are. The respect I have for these people is just massive. I want to say a massive thank you to all of them.’
Earlier in the day police had arrested five teenagers on suspicion of manslaughter.
Cleveland Police had said a group of teenagers came forward yesterday following appeals for information.
They confirmed that two 18-year-olds and two 16-year-olds have been released under investigation, while an 18-year-old remains in custody awaiting questioning.

Mr Jobson’s heartbroken girlfriend Dani Ord wrote on Instagram today: ‘Nothing will ever take this pain away.’
She described Mr Jobson as ‘the most gentle, loving and liked boy that I luckily had the pleasure to be with’.
She added: ‘Trying so hard to be strong but it just feels as though I’m in a dream and haven’t woke up.
‘Thank you for all the memories, I will make you proud. You really were just too good for this world. I love you always Luke.’
She posted a photo of them together and of him looking at the sunset after he was confirmed to have died.
Mr Jobson was spotted outside The Keys pub on Yarm High Street in the early hours of Saturday morning. Shortly afterwards he was seen near the town’s school, the last sighting of him alive.
A police statement released today stated: ‘Our thoughts are with Luke’s family and friends at this very difficult time and specially trained officers will continue to support them.’

Police said on Monday that one line of inquiry was that there had been an altercation outside the Keys pub in Yarm, and appealed for anyone with dashcam footage to contact them.
Dozens of people turned out to help search for Mr Jobson after his disappearance, and had to be warned by police to stay away from the area around Yarm School in order to allow specially-trained officers to do their work.
A Facebook appeal for help to find him was set up by his aunt and was shared more than 60,000 times.
Asking for help, she wrote: ‘Luke needs to be found and needs to be home, fast. He is 22, he wouldn’t hurt a fly, he is a popular, happy, calm lad that needs to be found ASAP.’
A police spokesman added: ‘We are aware of various rumours and speculation circulating on social media but we would stress that sharing these further can be very distressing for Luke’s family as well as being unhelpful to our ongoing inquiries.’
