A 59-year-old wanted by police for trying to kill his ex-wife and murdering his elderly parents died early on Thursday morning in a car crash.

Bruce Rogal, 59, died in the early hours of Thursday, a day after going on his deadly rampage after receiving a final divorce order which awarded his home to his wife.

That ‘set him off’, according to police.

He first went to his estranged wife’s home where he shot her six times in the driveway.

She had been trying to change her oil. Next, he went to the Bellingham Retirement Community in Westchester where his parents William, 89, and Nancy, 87, lived.

He shot them both dead then went on the run, sparking a statewide manhunt which went on through the night.

At 1am, he returned to his ex-wife’s street and crashed his 2002 Honda Odyssey into a property.

At some point before they found him slumped over at the wheel, police dispatchers said he exchanged gunfire.

They described him being ‘armed with a rifle.’  Eventually, he was found slumped over at the wheel.

Afterwards, swarms of police vehicles descended on the scene but the estranged wife, whose name  is yet to be released, was unharmed.

Next, workers at the retirement home where his parents lived called 911 to relay what had happened.

They frantically described how he came into the home and shot his parents then fled.

It is unclear what exactly Rogal did for work.

On LinkedIn, he described himself as a ‘Director of Photography’ but he did not list an employer or company.

The couple are not thought to have had children together. It remains unclear how long they were married.
