Man finds fish frozen in ice in the act of eating

  • Man and his friends fishing on a frozen lake stumble upon rare sight in the ice
  • Footage of the incident shows a fish completely frozen in the act of eating another fish
  • One man is then seen cutting the fish out of the ice, clearly showing the smaller fish inside the mouth
  • Friends surmise the fish was too large to swallow and led to the other choking

A man fishing on a frozen lake earlier this week stumbled upon rare sight in the ice, uploading footage of the incident to social media.

Posted to pop-culture website digg.com, the clip opens to an unidentified man explaining that he and a few of his companions are ‘fishing on about six inches of ice’ looking for rainbow trout and perch.

The camera quickly focuses on a fish frozen in ice, close enough to the surface for viewers to see.

‘He’s frozen right right up here at the top… let’s get him out of there,’ the narrator says.

Another man then begins to hammer into the ice, cutting out a block where the animal is frozen.

After chipping away at remaining shards of ice, viewers are treated to something the narrator is confident ‘you’ll never see this in your life again’: a full grown trout frozen solid in the act of eating another fish.
