Man in Port Melbourne caught taking a dump in nature strip only metres away from a pub with toilets

Australia’s public pooing crisis is worsening with a man caught taking a dump only six metres away from a pub with a toilet.

An offender with jeans around his ankles was photographed bending over into a nature strip in Port Melbourne late on Sunday afternoon in broad daylight.

Media lawyer Justin Quill was driving home from dinner shortly after 7pm when he saw the unappetising sight on the corner of Raglan and Crockford streets, outside The Hack pub.

‘It’s a sign of a bloke having too much to drink,’ he told Daily Mail Australia.

‘I assume he’d been there all day.

‘I’m basing that only on, number one, what he was doing. Number two, pardon the pun, it was outside a pub.’

The unidentified man defecated in a nature strip, next to a timber box containing books, six months after Brisbane’s serial poo jogger Andrew Macintosh, 64, was caught outside a block of units during his bizarre early morning ritual.

Unlike the Queenslander who shocked the nation, the Melbourne man did his act during a busier time of day.

‘There were some people around. It was wasn’t like it was totally deserted but there were certainly cars driving past,’ Mr Quill said.

‘He was wearing jeans, it’s not like he was running along. He’s certainly not a poo jogger but he could be a serial poo-er.’

Mr Quill at least saw the funny side.

‘I was laughing, I wasn’t upset or offended. I don’t know I did see any kids but there could have been,’ he said.

As a lawyer, he said he would advice him to own up to his dirty act.

‘The first tip would be, don’t do it again. The second tip would be plead guilty,’ he said.

Daron Jacks wondered why he didn’t pick up a book in the nearby box.

‘He had the chance for some reading material, but it looks like he hand his hands full,’ he said.

Another man compared him to a dog.

‘If he brought a plastic bag to pick it up then it’s fine,’ he said.

This latest episode of public defecation occurred on Sunday, just hours after a man was caught on closed-circuit TV cameras relieving himself outside the back of a Red Rooster outlet in north Queensland.

The Townsville store’s manager Michael Jones posted the images on social media in a bid to find the man who could have simply used the toilets inside.
