A seriously wounded man was dumped at a Melbourne hospital on Saturday afternoon suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

He was left outside the Monash Medical Centre in Clayton at around 4pm by a man driving a white van, who quickly drove away after dropping off the injured man.

9NEWS reported that police located the van just streets away from the hospital on Sunday morning.

‘The yet to be identified man is being treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries,’ a Victoria Police spokeswoman said.

He was treated and then transferred to Dandenong Hospital where he is now recovering from non-life threatening injuries.

Meanwhile, Victoria police cordoned off the area around the van before taking the vehicle away for forensic testing.
