Customers at a Houston Petco were left stunned Monday when an unusual and very large animal arrived at the store with its owners.

Vincent and Shelly Browning decided to test the franchise’s famous policy that ‘all leashed pets are welcome’ by bringing along their 2,000 pound African Watusi named Oliver.

The pair were pleasantly surprised by Petco’s friendly staff, who quickly welcomed the gigantic steer with open arms.

A video shared to Facebook shows Vincent walking Oliver into the store, located in the suburb of Atascocita.

In the clip, the one ton animal tilts its head to allow its large horns to pass through the shop’s automatic doors.

Immediately, enchanted employees were seen coming up to pat the placid animal, while customers whipped out their smartphones to take photos of the memorable moment.

Taking to social media after the event, Vincent praised the pet store, saying: ‘The staff members here are always super friendly and courteous to us. We really enjoy coming to this location…our favorite Petco by far!’

Speaking with Chron, Vincent’s wife Shelly further gushed over the franchise.

‘I didn’t think a major chain like that would be open to us bringing him in, but we were just kind of testing the waters on that all-leashed-pets-welcome policy they have.’

‘It was exciting and just something we really wanted to do anyways. So it just really kind of fit that we got there (and) came at the right time when the right people were there. They welcomed him with open arms, everyone was so excited.’

The African Watusi isn’t the only unusual animal to have made its way through the doors of the Atascocita Petco.

Pigs and baby calves have previously been brought into the popular chain.
