‘Knife-wielding’ man is tasered and arrested outside of a police station in Sydney’s west

  • An armed man was tasered outside Granville police station in Sydney’s west 
  • Two officers walked to the front door when man with knife allegedly approached
  • One officer pulled out a taser after the man he refused to comply with directions 

Shocking footage has captured the moment a man armed with a knife was tasered and tackled to the ground by police in Sydney’s west on Monday.

Officers can be seen trying to talk with the man before they grabbed him outside Granville police station, near Parramatta.

Two inspectors were walking towards the front door of the Carlton Street premises shortly after 7.30am AEDT when the incident occurred, the New South Wales Police Force has confirmed. 

That is when the man wielding a knife allegedly approached.

One officer deployed a taser after he had refused to comply with their directions and kept walking towards the officers.

He was then arrested and will be taken to Westmead Hospital for assessment.
