Meghan Markle’s half-sister Samantha says if their father dies ‘Meg is responsible’

Meghan Markle’s half-sister Samantha lashed out at the Duchess of Sussex on Twitter on Tuesday, claiming she had rejected her father and would be to blame if he died

Meghan Markle’s outspoken half-sister has lashed out at the Duchess of Sussex again, this time saying if their father Thomas Markle dies, ‘it’s on you Meg’.

Samantha Markle launched into her Twitter tirade on Tuesday night, hours after Thomas told TMZ he wouldn’t stop talking to the media until his daughter accepted him back into her life.

The 53-year-old took aim at Meghan and Prince Harry’s appearance at the Nelson Mandela centenary exhibition in London earlier that day, telling her: ‘How about you pay tribute to your own father?! Enough is enough’.

‘Act like a humanitarian, act like a woman,’ she wrote, adding: ‘If our father dies, it’s on you Meg’.

Since joining the Royal Family, Meghan has deleted all forms of social media, so it is not believed she has seen Samantha’s tweets.

This may not have occurred, or may not have mattered, to Samantha, who continued tweeting.

‘Glad you have so much time to gallivant around paying tribute to others while ignoring your own father!’ she wrote.

‘How cold can you be and look in the mirror? Harry? I guess I was right.’

The Duchess and her father, Thomas, had a close relationship while she was growing up

The Duchess and her father, Thomas, had a close relationship while she was growing up, but she reportedly has not spoken to the former Hollywood lighting director in two months – since she became married to Prince Harry (left, Meghan and her father in better days – pictured right is Thomas Markle in early June)

Samantha, a mother-of-three who is writing a book about ‘living in the shadows of the Duchess’, took a short break from tweeting, before returning and appearing to respond to an interview her father did on Tuesday morning.

Thomas Markle said he’s unfazed by reports that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are fed up with him doing paid interviews with the media, and he wouldn’t stop speaking out about his daughter and the Royal Family – no matter how ‘frustrated’ they get.

Thomas, who recently called out his estranged daughter in an interview with the Sun on Sunday, said he won’t stop speaking to the media until he’s allowed to be a part of Meghan’s life.

‘I was silent for a full year and the press beat me up every day saying I was a hermit hiding in Mexico, so I gave my story,’ he told TMZ.

‘Apparently that interview put the Royal Family in their silence mode… so, I gave another interview to break the silence. All they have to do is speak to me.’

The Sun reported earlier this week that Thomas has not spoken to Meghan in two months.

Thomas told the paper he was worried for his daughter, telling the Sun: ‘I see it in her eyes, I see it in her face and I see it in her smile.

‘I’ve seen her smile for years. I know her smile. I don’t like the one I’m seeing now… This is a pained smile.’

He said she is ‘terrified’ and ‘under too much pressure’, adding: ‘There’s a high price to pay to be married to that family.’

Thomas said his daughter is ‘very controlling’ and ‘likes to be in charge’ so wouldn’t respond well to being kept on a tight leash by the royals.

Since before the royal wedding, Samantha has made several unkind remarks about her half-sibling both on Twitter and in media interviews.

She has passionately defended their father Thomas for staging paparazzi photographs before the wedding and says that none of the family have been given the tools they needed to face the global media storm which engulfed them when Harry and Meghan became engaged.

In previous attacks on Meghan, she has said Princess Diana would be ashamed of Harry for choosing to marry her, and labelled her half-sister ‘the Duchess of Nonsense’.
