Megyn Kelly went as herself for Halloween, Doug was Trump

Megyn Kelly got some good news on Tuesday as ratings for her hour of ‘Today’ were up double digits week-over-week in the key demo.

Nielsen numbers show that Megyn averaged 2.258 million total viewers and 705,000 viewers between the age of 25 and 54 during the 9am hour in her third week on the air.

That was up three percent in total viewers and 10 percent in the demo week-over-week while matching the 0.6 rating she notched in the key demo during her first week on the air.

Those demo numbers got a big boost last Monday, when a series high 927,00 adults aged 25 to 54 tuned in to watch Megyn’s sit down with Harvey Weinstein accuser Lauren Sivan.

‘Megyn Kelly Today’ was down however year-over-year, dropping 23 percent in total viewers and 33 percent in the demo.

Ratings were down for all four hours of the NBC morning show, with this week in 2016 coming hot on the heels of p****gate.

‘Today’ tune in spiked to see what would become of newly hired anchor Billy Bush after he was recorded making inappropriate comments on a 2005 hot mic while interviewing Donald Trump.

The network ultimately decided to terminate their newest hire, who had joind Tamron Hall and Al Roker on the now-cancelled ‘Today’s Take.’

Megyn will now try to keep her numbers on the upswing, as she welcomes Dr. Oz , Michael Phelps, and Greg Kinnear later this week.

The NBC host stopped by ‘Today’ ahead of her hosting duties on Monday to discuss the upcoming holiday, and what costumes proved to be a hit or a miss in the past.

When it came time for Megyn to share, she said that she went as Megyn Kelly while her husband Douglas Brunt went as Donald Trump two years ago, one of the more popular costume choices in the wake of the pair’s showdown during the first Republican debate.

And while her husband’s look seemed to past muster, Megyn said that she got nothing but negative feedback.

‘We literally got from people, “you need some work because that’s not how she wears her hair,”‘ said Megyn of the public response to her costume.

Megyn then added that she told her critics she would ‘work on it.’

The biggest issue for most people said Megyn was her hair, with the host having chopped off her long locks in favor of a sleek bob just a few days before Halloween.

Megyn will soon be experiencing Halloween in a whole new light as a member of the ‘Today’ team, with the NBC morning show going all out each year for the holiday.

The annual spectacle does not disappoint, as the hosts do unofficial battle with the teams from ‘Good Morning America,’ ‘The View, “Live With Kelly & Ryan’ and more for the best costumes.

Last year the ‘Today’ team did a nineties theme with Willie Geist and Tamron Hall as John Travolta and Uma Thurman in ‘Pulp Fiction’; Al Roker as Steve Urkel from ‘Family Matters’; a pregnant Savannah Guthrie as Demi Moore on the cover of ‘Vanity Fair’; Carson Daly as the Terminator; and Kathie Lee Gifford as Regis Philbin and Hoda Kotb as nineties Kathie Lee.

Matt Lauer, unsurprisingly, dressed as Jerry Seinfeld.

The year before that the group did the cast of characters from Charles Schultz’s ‘Peanuts’ comic strip.

One person who will not be joining the group sadly is Dolly Parton, who was a guest on the show Monday.

When asked how she felt about the holiday, Dolly said: ‘I live Halloween everyday. I’m always in costume.’

She then admitted however that unlike Megyn she does don a disguise each year that is selected by her nieces and nephews so that people cannot recognize her when she shows up at their doors.
