Milo Yiannopoulos slams Waleed Aly’s wife Susan Carland

Milo Yiannopoulos took aim at journalist Waleed Aly’s wife, Dr Susan Carland, in an expletive-ridden rant during his three sold-out shows in Melbourne on Monday.

The alt-right commentator, who told the crowd Mr Aly was ‘dedicated to the destruction of Western civilisation’, joked that Dr Carland’s uncles would throw acid on her if she didn’t wear her hijab, according to The Age.

‘[It] would be a bad look on the red carpet at the Logies,’ he said.

‘She wears that hijab because she chooses to sister. Not because she is the brainwashed victim of a death cult that oppresses women and kills homosexuals,’ he continued.

A violent brawl erupted between protesters and Mr Yiannopoulos’ supporters ahead of the 33-year-old’s speech on Monday after the location of his secret show was leaked to critics.

Anti-fascist and hardline right-wing groups clashed outside the Melbourne Pavilion in inner-city Kensington, with protesters brawling in the streets and wielding crude weapons.

Hundreds of protesters from left-aligned Campaign Against Racism and Fascism and two right-wing groups, Reclaim Australia and the True Blue Crew, rallied with a heavy police presence attempting to maintain order.

Protesters could be heard chanting ‘Milo is a w**ker’ before the clash turned physical.

Despite dozens of officers working to keep the groups separate, at least two men were pepper sprayed after they started fighting, with others joining in.

At least 10 men were pictured throwing punches, with several brandishing make-shift weapons including wooden clubs and sticks.

Two people were arrested and are expected to be charged with discharging a missile. A police officer received minor injuries, according to 9News.

Mr Yiannopoulos’ first Melbourne event was due to kick off at 6.30pm, with another two scheduled the same night.

Despite being slammed for a personal attack on prominent feminist writer Clementine Ford during his shows in Adelaide and Perth, Mr Yiannopoulos took aim at the 36-year-old again during the third leg of his speaking tour.

He described Ms Ford as a ‘human lump of half-melted butter’ before also taking aim at Channel 10 TV presenter Jessica Rowe, according to The Age.

Ms Rowe and Mr Yiannopoulos clashed during a heated live interview in October.

Ms Rowe described herself as a proud feminist, prompting the UK-born commentator to suggest she be ‘cured with chemotherapy’.
