Leaving his running shoes at home, the Olympian teamed his suave two-piece with a white shirt, black tie and a patent leather dress shoe as he commanded the red carpet grinning ear-to-ear.

Joining him for the special night, Mo’s wife Tania looked sensational in a stylish black mini dress which featured contrasting lace trim around the hem and sleeves.

The brunette beauty’s chic garment boasted sheer paneling across her midriff and highlighted her slender pins as she donned a pair of metallic heels.

She complemented her demure appearance with a slick of vibrant red lipstick and worked her locks into a sleek straight style.

Meanwhile, it was revealed that Mo will not run the marathon for Great Britain at the European Athletics Championships in August.

The sports star will continue to focus on other events with an appearance at the Chicago Marathon in October and November’s New York Marathon still possible.

It is understood the European Championships is not on Farah’s radar with next year’s World Championships in Doha is also priority.

London Marathon executives are also keen to have him back for the 2019 edition after his impressive performance at this year’s race.

Scotland’s Callum Hawkins, who collapsed while leading the Commonwealth Games marathon earlier this month, and Jonny Mellor, who was left out of England’s squad for the Gold Coast, are also not travelling, meaning there is an all-woman marathon team for Berlin.

British Athletics performance director Neil Black said: ‘Several British men fulfilled the qualifying standard and it was the intention of the selection panel to have representation in Berlin however personal preference or injury means no places were accepted.’
