The man was struck in the head by one of the bricks and knocked to the ground.

The victim’s girlfriend, a young woman in her 20s, was also struck in the head from behind with a brick clutched by one of the men when she intervened in an attempt to stop the fight.

According to The West Australian, both victims were treated at Peel Health Campus where the woman was diagnosed with a fractured skull and the man received staples to a gash on his head.

Police believe the attack was linked to an incident in a nearby nightclub.

On Thursday afternoon police arrested a man they believe was involved in the attack.

He is undergoing questioning according to 9 News Perth and his clothing has been sent for DNA testing.

They have released images of the men who they say may be able to help in their investigations and are appealing for witnesses to the incident.
