Customers bemoaned the feature on Twitter, with several people complaining about the icons ruining their viewer experience.
One user, Emily Lampkins, said on Twitter: ‘If I wanted stupid pop ups in the middle of my movie I could watch for free anywhere online, your “Watch That Scene Again” feature is complete garbage.
‘I opted out but not before having my mind blown at how dedicated you are to making your service completely unusable.’
Others labelled the feature stupid, dumb, annoying and irritating.
One user even threatened to cancel their account if they persist, saying: ‘If I see any distracting pop-ups asking if I want to watch that scene again, I shall be cancelling my account.’

Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, a spokesperson for Netflix, said: ‘We’re trying out a feature which gives Netflix members the ability to rewatch favorite scenes and memorable moments with the click of a button.
‘Right now we’re just looking to learn from it and may or may not roll it out more broadly in the future.’
