Two week update: Courtney, who goes by @aforeverlylove on social media, recently shared another picture of her belly at 40 weeks (left) and two weeks after giving birth (right)

She captioned the shot with: ‘Getting your body back after baby takes time and hard work. It’s not going to happen overnight, and definitely not in a week either.

‘But, I’ll continue to breastfeed and stay as active as I can until I get cleared for working out at my 6wk appt hopefully.’

She added: ‘For now I’ll just remind myself to be kind about my body and all the hard work it did to grow not only our sweet girl 2 years ago, but also our big healthy 9 pounds 4 ounces baby boy a little over a week ago.

‘You did good body, you did good.’

Since posting, the picture has received over 15,000 likes and in excess of 300 comments, and other women have been quick to praise the social media star’s honest portrayal of her post-baby body.

Instagram fan @kearacrystal wrote: ‘Powerful. Thank you for being awesome, and vulnerable and a good example of how we should treat and think about our amazing bodies.’

‘I was flooded with sweet messages and other mamas thanking me for being so real and raw about what motherhood (sometimes) looks like a week after you deliver.’

She added that although some women pointed out that a lot of people go back to their pre-pregnancy weight a week after birth, she wanted to ‘drive home’ the message that all moms should love their bodies and ‘appreciate the miracle it was able to do to carry your sweet babies inside of you.’

She continued: ‘Our bodies are amazing and resilient and strong and being NICE to both yourself and others really does make the world a better place. So, set your cup of coffee down.

‘Go look in the mirror and give yourself a little pep talk: “Oh hey there you bad**s Mama. Don’t be sad. You got this. And I love you.”‘

Her latest before and after picture compared her belly at 40 weeks pregnant and two weeks after birth . In the caption, Courtney told her followers that ‘things are starting to tighten up’ and that her bellybutton is starting to retreat back inside its ‘cave’.

She also shared some useful information about the uterus and how much it weighs after birth.
