He also allegedly punched the child in the stomach, police say.

Police also say that Collins initially tried to blame a 3-year-old for the 21-month-old’s injuries, claiming that the 3-year-old pushed the child off a bed.

Collins was tasked by his girlfriend with babysitting three of her children on Friday night. She was at work.

Tulsa World has reported that the baby is Collins’s child.

He allegedly became angry with the 21-month-old because the baby would not stop crying.

The affidavit reads: ‘Zachary stated that he was frustrated with [the 21-month-old] for not allowing him to sleep.’

Police say he drank heavily that night: a six-pack of beer and a half-pint of tequila.

Collins also has three drug-related convictions. He is being held in jail without bond.

It is not clear whether the mother will also be charged.
