Oliver Curtis talks ‘very difficult’ 12 months in jail

He was sentenced to twelve months jail for conspiracy to commit insider trading back in June 2016.

And on Monday, Oliver Curtis spoke for the first time about his life behind bars at Cooma Correctional Centre.

Talking with The Daily Telegraph, the 32-year-old former investment banker and husband of PR maven Roxy Jacenko described his stint in the slammer as ‘something that I would not wish on anybody’.

Speaking candidly: On Monday, Oliver Curtis spoke for the first time about his life behind bars at Cooma Correctional Centre in an interview with The Daily Telegraph

He told the publication: ‘It was a very difficult time. It was something that I could not prepare for, something you cannot plan for.’

Inside the prison’s walls Oliver was tasked with cooking and gardening, as well as hairdressing.

‘Someone had to do it and I put my hand up,’ the Sydney identity explained, adding that he can now do ‘a good short back and sides’.

Oliver was released from prison in June and recalled the emotional moment he first set eyes on his two children, Pixie, 6, and Hunter, 3, after walking free.

The youngsters – who believed their father was away in business on China – were waiting on board a private jet for their father, with Oliver describing the moment as ‘amazing’ and ‘something that I will never forget’.

His famous wife was also on the chartered aircraft, and the two shared a kiss before jetting back to their luxurious life in Sydney.

Roxy had hit headlines just weeks before Oliver’s release after pictures emerged of the PR queen kissing her former boyfriend, Nabil Gazal, at his multi-million dollar apartment.

However, Oliver told The Daily Telegraph that after he left prison ‘everything was behind us’.

Indeed, Oliver and Roxy’s relationship has gone from strength to strength in the five months since he walked free, telling the publication his wife and kids are ‘his first priority’.

The former banker even proposed to his wife for a second time back in July.

Last month, however, Roxy cast doubt on whether the pair will have a flashy second wedding ceremony, with the public relations guru telling Daily Mail Australia she’d rather use the money to buy property.

In the meantime, Oliver has resumed work as a development officer at E-Nome, a medical technology start-up owned by his father, Nick.

With Cooma Correctional Centre appearing miles from his mind, he was seen beaming alongside Roxy as they stepped out looking glamorous for Derby Day at the weekend.
