People magazine publishes photo of Trump stood by accuser

People magazine has published a photograph showing President Donald Trump stood next to a woman who claimed he sexually assaulted her – but who he claimed to have never met.

Trump has denied multiple accusations of sexual assault and harassment, at one point branding ex-People journalist Natasha Stoynoff a ‘liar’ for claiming he pushed her against a wall before ‘forcing his tongue down [her] throat’.

She said the attack took place during a 2005 party at his Mar-a-Lago estate.

But Trump raged in a tweet yesterday about ‘false accusations and fabricated stories of women who I don’t know and/or have never met. FAKE NEWS!’.

Stoynoff (pictured) asked if – given the momentum of the #MeToo anti-sexual harassment movement – ‘the president of the United States [is] held to a different standard than, say, Louis C.K.? Or will Trump too face a day of reckoning?

In response, People posted a photograph of Stonyoff stood next to Trump on the day she claimed he assaulted her.

Stood in front of the president is his wife, and now first lady, Melania.

In 2016, Stoynoff went public with her story.

She said: ‘Donald wanted to show me around the mansion. There was one “tremendous” room in particular, he said, that I just had to see.

‘We walked into that room alone, and Trump shut the door behind us.

‘I turned around, and within seconds he was pushing me against the wall and forcing his tongue down my throat.’

Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Trump’s spokeswoman, defended his tweet yesterday on Megyn Kelly Today by explaining: ‘Simply stating that you don’t know someone means that you don’t have a relationship with them.’

It comes after four women to have accused Trump renewed their appeals to see the president investigated by an ethics committee in Congress.

Samantha Holvey, Rachel Crooks, Jessica Leeds and Melinda McGillivray made the demand this week.
