Perth boys face 11 charges after ‘burglary spree’ over Rockingham

Two young boys are facing multiple charges after they went on an alleged crime spree – stealing jewellery, money and electronics from several properties.

The boys, aged 10 and 11-years-old, have been charged with 11 offences combined after they allegedly committed a spate of burglaries across Rockingham.

Police allege the boys broke into several homes and a primary school in the daylight hours.

They are accused of stealing money, jewellery and small electronic devices.

One of the alleged items the boys’ stole was a watch belonging to the elderly victim’s deceased husband.  

Western Australian police shared a photo over social media of Constable Sean Larson-Pearse handing back the watch. 

The 10-year-old boy from Rochingham faces charges of attempted aggravated home burglary, two counts of aggravated home burglary and three counts of stealing. 

They 11-year-old boy from Cooloongup has been charged with Aggravated home Burglary, Stealing and Burglary and Commit.  

They are both due to appear Rockingham Children’s Court next month.

In a separate incident, two teenage boys have been charged over an alleged attack of a 40-year-old man in nearby Cannington over the weekend, PerthNow reported. 

The boys allegedly approached the man after he sat down on a bench at the train station and started punching him. 

The man fell to the ground and the teenagers continued to beat him up. 

The ran off, leaving the man on the ground but were caught my Public Transport Officers shortly after.  

The victim was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital for treatment to non-life-threatening injuries.
