An alleged ‘b**chy’ phone conversation between Peter and Karl Stefanovic that was overhead during an Uber ride is set to send a chill down the corridors of Channel Nine on Monday.
Because that is reportedly the day details of the brothers’ ‘frank discussion’ about Karl’s Today co-host Georgie Gardner and other network talent will be revealed in New Idea.
Veteran entertainment journalist Peter Ford claimed on 6PR Breakfast on Friday that the magazine will publish details of the ‘highly embarrassing’ conversation.

However, Ford claimed that – contrary to his previous statements – there is no ‘secret recording’ of the conversation and it is simply the Uber driver’s recollection of what was allegedly said.
According to The Sydney Morning Herald, New Idea ‘is understood to have paid up to $50,000’ for the explosive story.
Speaking to 6PR, Ford alleged that the contents of the conversation would ‘pull apart’ Karl and Georgie’s already strained relationship.

He said: ‘I don’t want to quote things because I don’t have it front of me either, but this relationship… I don’t know how Georgie is going to be able to continue to sit opposite him as of next week.’
Ford claimed the conversation also covered other people Peter and Karl worked with at Channel Nine – including the network’s entertainment editor Richard Wilkins.
‘It is going to be highly embarrassing for both the Stefanovic brothers as of next week when this magazine is on the shelves, because they give serves to not only on-air talent including Richard Wilkins and Georgie Gardner, but to a number of major executives at the Channel Nine Network,’ Ford alleged.

On Wednesday, The Daily Telegraph reported Peter and Karl had spoken about their Nine bosses and allegedly complained about working with Georgie during the talk.
Ford first spoke about the conversation on The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Monday, claiming the Stefanovic brothers engaged in a bit of ‘b*tching’ and ‘moaning’.
At the time, Ford alleged a taxi driver had covertly recorded Peter talking to Karl on speakerphone and noted that the phone call would be ’embarrassing if it got out’.
