The stark reality of glamorous Instagram shots have been revealed, and prove you can reenact them simply by going to your local homeware store.
Calob Castellon, a photographer from Calipatria, California has revealed just how you can use simple every day backgrounds to your advantage.
The talented photo editor uses TV screens, DIY stores and lighting to glamorize what would otherwise be standard shots.
Behind-the-scenes pictures even see a friend holding a phone in the background for extra lighting, while elsewhere an ATM is turned into a time travel machine.
Calob posts regular updates of his incredible work to his Instagram account, which boasts almost 350,000 followers.
‘Shooting in the most random places triggers the majority of my creativity’, he says.
Revealing how a stroll around a parking lot led him to discover the ATM idea, he admits that TV backdrops found in homestores have given him much of his material.
‘The search for decent lighting may lead to unlikely places’, he said of his incredible shoots.

However a follow-up picture posted by the photographer shows that she is in fact standing in front of a wall of TV screens in popular chain store Walmart. The talented photographer revealed that much of his material comes from using TV or computer screens as a backdrop
Another picture posted by the photographer shows the model as she looks out as she stands in front of what appears to be a window, in a haunting shoot inspired by thriller Birdbox
However a follow-up snap shows the picture was actually taken in front of a blinds display unit in a store. Calob joked of the picture: ‘Could we have shot at an actual window and cut my editing time by 99 per cent? Yes. Would it be as fun? Probably yes too’
Another incredible photo sees a model reclining in what appears to be a cloud with sunshine filtering through, posted to Caleb’s account which boasts almost 350,000 followers
But a snap shows that the model is actually sitting among mountains of pillow stuffing, with Caleb revealing that he bought a bag of it at Walmart and just added clever lighting
Meanwhile a picture of the model appears to show her in front of a retro style backdrop, and looks like it has come from a professional photo shoot
However Caleb soon revealed that it was in front of a fast food complex sign. He wrote: Swipe to see Location VS Photo! Taco Bell anyone? – We only do the absolute most for good lighting!’
And a photo taken by Caleb in front of a colouful rainbow-inspired backdrop appears to show the model in a picturesque location or studio
However the creative photographer revealed it was actually in a paint shop, writing: ‘When you have no studio but a Lowe’s instead’
Returning to his trick of using a TV screen as a clever backdrop for portraits, Caleb posted another pensive picture of the model against an eye-catching backdrop
However the next picture quickly revealed that he had simply placed the model in front of a screen emblazoned with the multi-coloured words ‘glow’
Caleb posted a picture of a model who appeared to be in front of a ‘teleporter’ time machine- a very professional-looking shot
However a few steps back proved he was in fact just standing in front of an ATM machine, with the photographer writing: ‘Today I found out that ATM actually stands for Automated Travel Machine- Nothing like a stroll around a parking lot to trigger some inspiration’
And another popular picture posted by the photographer of the model sees her in front of what appears to be a futuristic screen
However just a few steps back and it is clear that the model is actually standing in front of a display cabinet of tub and shower doors, with Caleb photoshopping figures onto them
Meanwhile what appeared to be a professional close-up of the model staring at her phone anxiously, was far less glamorous than it seemed
A snap of the surrounding scene shows a far less glamorous scene, as she lies on a bed with a friend holding a lit-up phone to her face, seen
Caleb shared a picture of a model in what appears to be a picturesque forest with stunning back lighting to his popular Instagram account
But the photographer quickly followed it up with the original picture, explaining that there weren’t many ‘pretty locations’ in his town so he used a simple adjustment of the light exposure and the addition of some trees in the background for a more glamorous finish
