The victim was discovered in Amblecote High Street in Stourbridge, West Midlands, at 5.30am today.

Emergency services arriving at the scene discovered the man with ‘fatal injuries’ and a cordon was put in place.

The focus of the investigation is the front of a detached cottage next to the church which has been covered in blue sheeting

The collision investigation unit was parked outside the property throughout the day with police tape put across the entrance to a nearby churchyard.

A worker from nearby business Vets 4 Pets in Amblecote said: ‘It was after 8am and I saw all the cordon, lots of police and there was blue tarpaulin covering up the building.

‘No one has asked us about the incident. It’s shocking because it’s very close to the practice.

‘It’s unusual for the area. It’s a very very popular road into Stourbridge and this road is busy 24 hours a day.’
