Heavily armed police with rifles and armoured trucks have locked down a suburban street in Sydney.

Raids are underway in Revesby in the city’s south-west, with a BearCat vehicle blocking Ferndale Avenue.

It is believed to be a planned operation and not related to terrorism, according to Nine News.
