Bryan Rosenthal, 45, was arrested as part of an undercover operation on Tuesday. He showed up to meet a 14-year-old girl for sex and was met instead by police officers
The president of a children’s charity in California has been arrested trying to meet up with a 14-year-old girl for sex.
Bryan Rosenthal, 45, was taken into custody in Vallejo on Tuesday after showing up to the meeting where he was confronted by police officers.
He had arranged with an undercover agent, who he thought was a 14-year-old girl, to meet up for sex.
Rosenthal, who is the president of the Cann-I-Dream Foundation, is accused of making similar contact with other kids.
Cann-I-Dream was founded in 2014. Its vague mission statement is to ‘make a better life for our children, thus creating a world full of abundance, love, and hope for our future.’
The company had deleted its website and social media pages by Thursday.
According to police, Rosenthal had sent the girl explicit photographs and text messages before their planned meeting.
When police seized his phone, they found similar conversations with other children.
Anyone who fears their child may have been exposed to him is urged to contact the San Francisco Police Department Special Victims Unit at (415) 558-9225.
Rosenthal is the president of the Cann-I-Dream Foundation which seeks to ‘make a better life for our children’. He is not thought to be married and it’s unclear if he has kids of his own
Rosenthal, who is not thought to be married, was booked into jail on several charges including arranging a meeting with a minor for sexual contact, going to an arranged meeting with a minor for sexual contact, sending harmful material to a minor, communication with a minor for the purpose of engaging in lewd and lascivious behavior, possession of child pornography and producing child pornography.
Cann-I-Dream was founded in 2014 and, in a description on its LinkedIn page, says it is dedicated to ‘ethical fundraising’.
Its intended beneficiaries are community outreach programs, food banks, stop urban blight campaigns, providing school supplies, and other living essentials, as well as education, and donations to global programs, and children’s hospitals.
In addition to running the charity, Rosenthal names himself as the CEO of a cannabis-product testing lab called Levi Laboratories.
