Qantas releases ad offering to pay for US passports

Australia’s flagship airline has released a new video hoping to entice Americans to visit the nation.

Qantas posted the short one minute clip to their social media pages this week, offering to help cover the costs of a US passport.

As part of ‘The Passport Take-Off’ promotion, those who book flights from the United States will receive $135 back from their airfares.

Australia’s flagship airline carrier Qantas has released a cringe-worthy new video hoping to entice Americans to visit the nation

The fee is said to cover the standard application fee of $110, as well as the execution fee of $25 and extends to those travelling on any class.

To redeem it, travellers simply need to use the code ‘passport’ when booking their flights on Qantas website.

The advertisement for the promotion sees a man dressed in a captain’s uniform spruiking the deal to get people to ‘come and explore our beautiful country’

Beginning with a colloquial ‘G’day, he then goes on the state that Qantas ‘isn’t your typical airline’ before outlining the deal.

‘Right now, when you book a trip to Australia with Qantas, your new passport is on us,’ he says.

And for those who already have a passport, the initiative still applies, with the ad stating it will be ‘a contribution to your next one’.
