Rachael Finch snaps selfie with Will Ferrell at Aus Open

She’s currently covering the Australian Open for Channel Seven.

And on Thursday, Rachael Finch was able to enjoy a fun perk of the job when she got to meet comedian and actor Will Ferrell.

The 29-year-old snapped a selfie with the Hollywood star, who is currently Down Under to enjoy the tennis.

At a press conference this week, Will praised Australians as ‘some of the most friendly people you’ll come across.’

The star also made headlines after being gifted a plush toy wombat at the press conference.

The comedian was gifted the toy marsupial in cheeky reference to his Anchorman impression at Rod Laver Arena on Tuesday with Will asking Roger Federer if he ate ‘wombat meat’.

The Daddy’s Home star kept the laughs coming on Thursday, telling the tennis media pack wombat didn’t taste like chicken and was a ‘sinewy, tough meat’.

Will also concluded that Roger seemed ‘a little bit afraid of him’ during his surprise on-court interview with the sports star following his first-round match.

The actor had channelled Anchorman character Ron Burgundy to ask the Swiss tennis player if he ate ‘wombat meat’ and if he was ‘a witch or a vampire’ two days earlier.

Will also jokingly announced his retirement from acting and said Taylor Swift was the best celebrity tennis player.

‘I have kind of done all the movies I want to do. It’s a great way to go out,’ Will told the media.

All jokes aside, Will said he’s a big tennis fan and was invited by an Australian friend to come watch the tournament for a couple days this year.
