Radio DJ J Cruz gets colonic for Kim Kardashian Twitter

An LA radio DJ was willing to put his butt on the line in order to gain some attention from social media powerhouse Kim Kardashian — literally.

J Cruz, who hosts The Cruz Show on Power 106 in Los Angeles, spent last week trying to convince Kim to follow him back on a Twitter.

But it isn’t his keen admiration of the reality star that made him so desperate for a follow-back, it was because he had promised his listeners that if she neglected to follow him by a certain deadline, he would get a colonic.

The Cruz Show airs on weekday mornings on Power 106, one of LA’s top radio stations.

On January 10, J Cruz’s co-hosts challenged him to find a way to get Kim to follow him on Twitter. They set the stakes high, too: If he couldn’t get a follow-back in about a week, he would have to get a colonic.

Thus started J Cruz’s campaign to get Kim’s attention. He spoke about the plan on-air — which may have worked, since Kim says she listens to the station — and tweeted about it regularly.

He also changed his name on Twitter to ‘KIM K’S #1 FAN’ and encouraged his followers to retweet him, hoping it would get Kim’s attention.

And it did get her attention — only a bit too late. On Friday, January 19, he gave one last desperate plea.

‘RETWEET today is the last day I have to get @KimKardashian to follow me back, otherwise this weekend I have to get a colonic,’ he wrote. ‘#KimKardashian PLEASE FOLLOW ME.’

The tweet ended up in Kim’s feed, but not until Sunday night, past Cruz’s deadline.

‘Ok wait I feel bad,’ she wrote at about 10pm on January 21. ‘You guys should I follow him or let him get a colonic? Aren’t they good for you? Maybe he should get one!’

Colonics, or colon cleansing, are often given to patients to prepare them for medical procedures that involve the digestive system. About a decade ago, they became popular in Hollywood and alternative medicine circles, with some claiming that they ‘detoxified’ the body.

However, research on the benefits of colonics is limited, and there is no scientific evidence to back up claims that they are beneficial. According to the Mayo Clinic, some colonics can even be harmful and lead to dehydration, bowel perforations, and an increased risk of infection.

Kim didn’t manage to catch Cruz in time, though.

‘Am I too late???? Did you get it already?’ she asked.

‘Never too late for the follow back,’ Cruz replied. ‘[But] I did get the colonic, man of my word.’

He also congratulated on her new daughter, Chicago West, and told her he felt good after the procedure.

‘Wait I’m so sad I missed all of this!!!!!’ Kim replied. ‘Damn @JCRUZ106 I love you guys!’

Despite the love, it doesn’t appear that Kim decided to follow Cruz back after all. The reality star only follows 131 accounts on Twitter, including her family, her own brands (like KKW Fragrance), a handful of designers, some close friends, and a few other celebrities, including Rihanna, Paris Hilton, Cardi B, Hailey Baldwin, Barack Obama, Naomi Campbell, John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, and Oprah.

She also follows Daily Mail Online and Daily Mail Celebrity.

Today, Calvin Klein also released new campaign images starring Kim and her sisters, posing together in the brand’s underwear.

Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, Kendall, and even Kylie appear together in the ads in matching briefs and bras, with Kylie pointedly covering up most of her body with a blanket.

This is the first campaign that the five sisters have appeared in together outside of ones for their own brands.

They also model blue, black, and white denim, posing in the same shed that sibling duo Kaia and Presley Gerber posed in for their family-focused campaign earlier this month.
