Real Madrid stars reunite at Anfield ahead of Brazil v Croatia

Real Madrid stars have a laugh at Anfield as Marcelo, Luka Modric and co reunite after Champions League success as they prepare for Brazil v Croatia friendly at Anfield

Last week, Marcelo and Luka Modric were key players on the same team as Real Madrid defeated Liverpool to win a third consecutive Champions League trophy.

This weekend, they will be opponents, as Marcelo’s Brazil take on a Croatia side featuring Modric in a World Cup warm-up – and there is a Liverpool connection again, with the game taking place at Anfield.

Club allegiances die hard however, with Modric and Marcelo seen hanging-out, laughing and joking together at the stadium, along with fellow Real team mates Mateo Kovacic of Croatia, and Brazilian Casemiro.

Midfielder Kovacic posted a series of pictures to Instagram of the Real players happily reuniting at Anfield in front of a giant Liverpool badge.

The Real players were not the only ones to be reuniting ahead of Sunday’s game, as several other former team mates from Brazil and Croatia came together.

Former Barcelona star Neymar, now at PSG, grabbed a selfie with his old Nou Camp colleague Ivan Rakitic, while there was also a return to Anfield for another Barca player, Philippe Coutinho.
